This document briefly describes how I install Debian GNU/Linux on a desktop computer, a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 3260.
Another document on installing Debian is Debian GNU/Linux on Toshiba T4700CT Notebook. That document includes details on how to use a proxy server. This document does not because Los Angeles Free-Net removed its proxy server in late 2001, at the same time expanding coverage from So. Cal. to all of California.
