NEW - July 2006

"Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen? Exit Polls, Election Fraud and the Official Count" by Steven Freeman & Joel Bleifuss, with a Forward by Representative John Conyers, Jr.

The original exit polls, which were quickly covered up, showed that John Kerry won almost all of the "Battleground" States by substantial margins, and that John Kerry won the 2004 Presidential Election by 7 MILLION VOTES! What happened? A very important and easy-to-read book.

NEW - June 2006

"Armed Madhouse: Who's Afraid of Osama Wolf?, China Floats, Bush Sinks, The Scheme To Steal '08, No Child's Behind Left, and Other Dispatches from the Front Lines of the Class War" by Greg Palast.

Another great book by Greg Palast, investigative journalist who grew up in "The Valley" but who was forced to publish his findings overseas on the BBC and in The Guardian and Observer newspapers. Greg uncovered the election fraud in Florida before the 2000 election which the Republicans stole from Al Gore, even though Gore officially got a million more votes than Bush!

"Fooled Again: How the Right Stole the 2004 Election & Why They'll Steal the Next One Too (Unless We Stop Them)" by Mark Crispin Miller.

This is a very important and interesting book if you value living in a free and open democracy. The people behind Bush/Cheney stealing the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections have no interest in free and fair elections nor in allowing you any free choices in how you live your life.

For more information on "Fooled Again" visit Mark Crispin Miller's website. And also read Greg Palast's book "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" to find out more on how Bush/Cheney stole the 2000 election from Al Gore.

The following sections of this Website haven't been updated in years! We are always looking for articles or photos for our newsletter (email them to gvdc@lafn.org or post them to GVDC, 15433 S. Catalina Ave., Gardena, CA, U.S.A. 90247). We also need help with our Website. Please send us any comments or suggestions, or even criticism, you have!

[QUICK LINKS] _ The QuickLinks page has hundreds of links to Democratic officeholders and organizations, progressive and labor organizations, and news sources around the world. It is constantly being updated with links to multiple sources for current news. Besides links to Democratic Party organizations, Democratic campaigns and Democratic officeholders, there are links to labor and progressive groups (even some that aren't liberal at all), which are loosely sorted by topics. In addition, we have links to newspapers and periodicals throughout California, across the United States of America and around the world. We link to the English-language versions of many foreign-language newspapers. There are also links to e-zines (online electronic magazines), radio and television stations and many liberal and progressive commentators whose columns are available on the World Wide Web. Since most of the mass media is right-wing-owned and their opinion pieces are overwhelmingly authored by conservatives, the World Wide Web is your only source of liberal, common sense views for many issues. Even "public" broadcasting, these days, is dominated by right-wing commentators. Please browse around the links here and broaden your perspective! (Last updated: August 25, 2005 )

[CLUB NEWS] _ Those of you who are out of town can keep up on events back home! We have a number of our newsletters and postcard notices up online. Some of our older newsletters are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. (You may need to download the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in.) You can also print them out and get almost exact copies of our newsletters, with COLOR photographs if you've got a color printer! Your comments are welcome. (Last updated: August 13, 2002 )

[CALENDAR] _ The December 2001 Calendar lists Democratic events and Club meetings in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. There are a number of elections coming up in March and April. Help elect Democratic candidates in local elections in your town! Most of our future candidates for the State Legislature and for Congress were first elected at the local level, not to mention Governors and Presidents! (Last updated: December 8, 2001 )

Upcoming events: (please see the Calendar for details & for more events)

Please e-mail _gvdc@lafn.org_ [E-MAIL] if you have any additions, corrections or changes to the Calendar.

[CAMPAIGNS] _ There will be many campaigns gearing up in the new year for the March Primaries and local elections. Volunteer to help! There are a number of competitive races for Statewide offices in the March 5th Primary. Or work for Democratic candidates in local campaigns. These are all non-partisan offices, but many of the candidates are Democrats who share our progressive views. If you prefer to not walk precincts or not volunteer for a phone bank, please volunteer to staff the polling place in your precinct. There are far too few Democrats helping to count the votes, which is one of the reasons the Repubs were able to steal the elections in Florida and other States. It's quite obvious now that Republicans will do ANYTHING to steal elections. James Baker, who led the Republican fight against the Florida recount, considered it to be "WAR." Every little bit you can do helps! (Last updated: December 6, 2001 )

Check out our QuickLinks page for many links to campaigns, to your representatives & to the media!

[ISSUES BUTTON] _ [NATIONAL DEBT CHART BUTTON] [ LABOR BUTTON] [WOMEN'S ISSUES BUTTON] [ENVIRONMENT BUTTON] [QUICK LINKS] We've got lots of links here to Web sites concerned with national and local issues. Double-check the numbers on our National Debt Chart and Interest on the Debt Chart! Search the Web for info on the threat to eliminate the social Safety Net established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt 60 years ago. The Repubs in Congress are trying to steal so many things at the same time that it's hard to know where to start fighting them. Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security, veterans' benefits and pensions, the right to choose, threats to the environment like the Ward Valley nuclear dump, eliminating President Kennedy's Clean Water Act, the list is endless. And since they renewed their control of both Houses of Congress, they will likely renew -- but more quietly -- those efforts to trash our safeguards. (Last updated: July 27, 1998)

[EVENTS] _ Look here for PHOTOS of many of the events we participated in the past. We have put the Events for 1996 and 1997 onto separate pages. (Last updated: May 15, 1998)

[DEMOCRATS On The WEB] _ Democrats here. Democrats there. Democrats everywhere, even in the White House! And more Democrats are getting on the Web every day. We have information on how to contact your local Democratic representatives (they are just about ALL on the Web now, at the beginning of 1998) and Democratic Party organizations. We also have links to many news media and liberal political Web sites, even a few Tory (oops! I mean "Conservative") ones. Please let us know if you have other World Wide Web sites or E-mail addresses that you would like to be added. (Last updated: February 6, 1998 )

[What YOU Can DO] _ What you can do to make life better for all Americans. Be sure that everyone you know REGISTERS to VOTE! When you vote, the people you elect pay attention to you. Don't be ignored -- if you want to be heard, then VOTE! And vote even after you've heard the projections in the race for President and Vice President. We won back the State Assembly and Senate in 1996! Now we've got to work to get Newt Gingrich out of the Speaker's chair two years from now! (Last updated: May 31, 1996 )

We have a new Online Form if you'd like to join our Club. Just fill out whatever info you'd like and press the SEND button...

PET PEEVE:_ This is a Democratic Club. We are members of the Democratic Party. We have a Democratic President of these United States of America. Our representatives in Congress are Democratic Representatives and Democratic Senators. There is no such thing as a Democrat Party, at least not in this country. There are Christian Democrats, Social Democrats and Liberal Democrats in other countries. When you hear a Republican mislabel us, call him or her a Repub news commentator or a Repub Congressman or a Repub Senator or a Repub candidate for President or a member of the Repub Party. We can use psy-ops techniques as easily as they can. ("Repub." is in the dictionary, by the way, look it up. So is Democrat, but not Democrat Party.)
