The I.S.A Twelve Traditions
Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery for the greatest number depends upon I.S.A. unity.
For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority--a loving God as He may express himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
The only requirement for I.S.A. membership is a desire to stop being an incest victim and become in incest survivor.
Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or I.S.A. as a whole.
Each I.S.A. group has but one primary purpose--to carry its message to the incest survivor who still suffers. We do this by borrowing and practicing the Twelve Steps of A.A. ourselves, by encouraging and understanding other incest survivors and by welcoming and giving comfort to one another.
An I.S.A. group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the I.S.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property and prestige divert us from our primary purpose. Although a separate entity we should always co-operate but not affiliate with Alcoholics Anonymous.
Every I.S.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.
Incest Survivors Anonymous Twelfth-Step work should remain forever non-professional, but our service centers may employ special workers.
I.S.A., as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.
Incest Survivors Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the I.S.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, films and T.V.; also we need guard with special care the anonymity of all I.S.A. members.
Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.
I.S.A. has agreed with A.A.'s request. Any time we print the I.S.A. TWELVE TRADITIONS we are to print the following to protect A.A. and I.S.A.
