EMERGENCY NETWORK LOS ANGELES
FACT SHEET
Mission Statement
To enhance preparedness for, and coordinated response to, emergencies and
disasters by creating and strengthening linkages among the network of
Community Based Organizations in Los Angeles County, with City, County,
State and Federal Governments and businesses.
Organization
Emergency Network Los Angeles is a non-profit charitable organization per
Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Membership is open to
private, non-profit charitable organizations, each of which retains its
own identity, but makes a commitment to working closely with other member
organizations to provide coordinated disaster relief services.
Emergency Network Los Angeles serves as the Los Angeles County Voluntary
Organizations Active in Disaster [LACVOAD].
Emergency Network Los Angeles is the Los Angeles County affiliate of the
NATIONAL VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVE IN DISASTER (NVOAD).
Computer Network
ENLA maintains a world wide web site and bulletin board presence on the
Los Angeles Freenet for emergencies and for on-going preparedness.
