| Hello
there, everyone ! Guess youre wondering
what is happening around the band. We have the
two meters up and running but we are being jammed
by what I will assume as an unlicensed operator
or maybe someone who was able to take the tests
again. The FCC recognized the mess and
immediately revoked his license. One reliable
source called me up one afternoon to tell me
exactly who the culprit is and one of these days
the FCC, hopefully, would be on his tail again.
We are using the best reliable source of contacts
and information. We may use the same channel used
by the Arizona Repeater Association in catching
their own jammer. Just wait and sit tight.
Meanwhile, our 70-CM is available. When you listen to the
2-meter repeater, please take note of any
important information such as names, call signs
that will aid us in identifying the jammer. Just
dont return the favor. That is what he
wants.
We have lots of
equipment to install but we just seem to lose
grip on the schedules. Possibly after the tax
season, all of us will find some time to install
our CP link.
What is going with
our May event ? A big question mark still. Please
attend our meetings and participate. We need your
support.
There are lots of
new call signs on the air. If you plan to request
a vanity call sign and waiting for your gate to
open, just be ready. You have 25 options in order
of your preference. The fee for the vanity call
sign is $30. Applications can be found on the
internet. Or, request one of your computer
buddies to print one for you. Its faster using
the internet.
We have extra rigs
for sale. For those who want an oldie, an FT
101-E is available. Call me. Another HF (A
Kenwood (I forgot the model) with a matching
amplifier is also available at a very reasonable
price. Contact Warlito (KO6XV). It is in
excellent condition. A two-meter HT (Radio Shack)
is also available . Again, call me.
Let us use this
page for the benefit of our membership and if you
have anything of value that will help the club,
call our President, Dodie (K3PE).
Until next time.
