Membership in LABEN is open to all who support the purpose and objectives of LABEN.  The organization is managed entirely by volunteers, who share LABEN's goals and vision for a highly educated Belizean community.

   Prospective Active or Passive members must:
   1.  be at least 18 years of age;
   2.  not have been convicted of a felony within the past 7 years;
   3.  not have strong political affiliations;
   4.  not be an active member of any political party;
   5.  complete an application form;
   6.  consent to volunteer their time and/or money; and
   7.  pay a one-time membership processing fee of $10.00.

HONORARY: The Board of Directors confers Honorary Membership upon individuals who have been recognized as having rendered exemplary and outstanding service to the Belizean community and/or to the furtherance of the goals and objectives of LABEN.  Honorary members have no voting rights.
ACTIVE:  Prospective members must attend a minimum of three consecutive meetings before consideration for membership will be given.  Active members must  attend at least 80% of meetings, pay their dues and participate in all organizational activities.  Active members have full voting rights and privileges.
PASSIVE:  Passive members are not required to attend general meetings, have no voting rights/privileges, and cannot hold office.
