Mentor |
Mentors are the primary interface with LAFN users to assist them in resolving problems with connecting to LAFN and using its services. Mentors respond to trouble tickets from the users and contact them to resolve the issue. LAFN will reimburse mentors for long distance phone calls assisting users.
|
Registrar |
Registrars manage the LAFN user accounts. They process the received checks and update the accounts for renewals and new registrations.
|
Office Volunteer |
This is a very important position as the office volunteers handle the checks received from the LAFN users. We are looking for highly responsible people who would be consistently able to spend one afternoon a week in an office near Encino Hospital.
|
Web Maintenance |
Maintainers keep a section of the LAFN web pages current and make sure that the information is accurate and timely.
|
Telephone Volunteer |
Telephone volunteers are needed to make local phone calls to answer requests for information and easily-solved problems. We particularly need volunteers in the 562, 714, and 909 areas.
|
News Moderator |
News moderators read and deal appropriately with messages sent to LAFN's newsgroups (discussion forums). Moderators must learn when and how to approve messages for posting and must have a newsreader program that enables them to post messages. |
Please note that openings for Registrars and Office Volunteers are limited. E-mail the contact listed for current openings and additional information.

Teacher
|
The East Valley Multipurpose Senior Center, located at 5000 Colfax Ave. in North Hollywood, needs volunteers to teach a basic Internet and Email one-on-one Computer Class. The hours are flexible: preferably 4 hours, one day a week. Also standby fill-in volunteers for a 1 hour class would be helpful. |
Call Suzy, the Volunteer Coordinator, at (818) 766-5165 or email Howard at bc361@lafn.org. |
